Research field of the laboratory
The laboratory project design is closer to the practical field, allowing students to learn more than technology or application, but with a more foresight opinion, insight into industry trends, digging out social issues, and creating influence. We have seven laboratories, researching field including smart business application, financial technology, social science, medical big data, artificial emotional intelligence, spoken dialogue system and NLP language analysis, etc.

Big Data Management takes “integration” and “innovation” as the core and “practical application” as the orientation, and cultivates data analysis talents with practical experience. The purpose of the laboratory learning system is to establish the connecting between curriculums in the practical field. Through ability complementation and knowledge inheritance, the allocation of teaching resources and key ability training are more systematic and solid.
The college started its laboratory project in 2017. Based on different fields to provide students with multiple learning scenarios to exercise their basic abilities. There are currently five labs in total.
Develop automated and intelligent medical and health models to respond to the impact of an aging society. In the meanwhile, use empirical data to explore behavioral science models to help develop preventive medicine intervention programs in the future.
The project execution of the lab participate by different grades to establish the continuous learning organization culture. Through project execution processing, students can enhance the understanding of field knowledge and experience from following the basic skill to execute the project. We divided into three different types: Problem-based learning, Project-based learning and Industry-University Cooperation.
Implemented with courses and small projects, cultivate students’ basic ability in data analysis, and guide students to think through questions or situations. This stage is design for freshmen, focusing on the training of technical skills. Senior students arrange courses and focus on training programming language.
There can divided into Big data internal training and corporate class with outer organization such as RLadies.
Combining industry resources and introduce Capstone projects into the class to help students involving with actual industry issues. Through the process of problem solving, cultivate data analysis ability, problem solving ability, and multiple data analysis vision. Lead students to participate in competitions and exert influence on data through the process of participation.
With the industry-university project of cooperation between teachers and companies, students connected knowledge in various fields, and teachers play the role of consultants to explore various phenomena in actual industry. Through in-depth research on a topic or phenomenon, diversified peer discussions and off-campus learning and thinking, students will be stimulated to solve problems, the essential skills necessary for the future. For instance, studying the subject of “community depression” will involve psychology, social work, natural language processing, medicine, community, technology, and other disciplines, leading students to conduct interdisciplinary topics.

“Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence Research”. The research fields cover smart law, smart finance, smart manufacturing, smart medical, natural language and other aspects.
